Ceasing cycling to sightsee

Please note: Two blogs are being posted today, this one with sightseeing pictures and, more importantly, Brody’s debut blog below. Please have a gander at both:

After cycling nearly 2,300 kilometres from Winnipeg to Ottawa, riding 20 out of 22 days, we’ve taken a break to do some sightseeing in our nation’s capital. On the first day, Thursday, we hit Value Village, MEC, the Rideau Canal and Parliament Hill. Although the English tours were all booked for the day we did a French one just to get inside the hallowed halls.

Brody surveys the Parliament Library; Clive takes a picture from the Peace Tower;
and stepping inside The Senate Chamber.

On our way to Parliament Hill, Clive had the misfortune of running over a cement screw. It was so strong it went right through his tire and his tube even nicking a piece out of his rim.

Clive can’t quite believe a concrete screw went right through his tire and tube and even took a small chunk out of his rim. But he managed to change it in the middle of a busy Bank Street in Downtown Ottawa.

Kilometre count

Day 54: Cobden to Ottawa 119 km; Total 4,999
